Soldering vs other kinds of connections

So, what’s the point between this and soldering the wires straight? Apart from the fact that you don’t need headshrink. And wouldn’t those be more fragile than a properly (or improperly) soldered joint?

    BATTERIES???

Hi, I wasn’t quite sure where to put this. I just found a whole heap of solar lights in my roof, which I want to use in a backyard, where brightness is not a problem. Where do you get good rechargeable batteries? (AA or AAA) It seems like all the good batteries now are nonrechargeable, which...

Soldering vs other kinds of connections

So Clickets seem to work… What do you all think about something like these cable clips? (Cheap and looks reliable)

Soldering vs other kinds of connections

And you don’t get any problems with the data wire? No flickers? No problems if pulled? I might have to try this…

    Pre-made Mega Trees

Ah… I seem to have wholly misjudged the cost of a mega tree. I was hoping for everything (controllers and pixels as well) under that price range, but if that is unreasonable, I might not be able to.

    Pre-made Mega Trees

Hi all. I am trying to find, are there any Australian pre-made or already designed mega tree kits? Obviously not plug-and-play, but any kits of everything I’d need? Preferably under $200au

    …debugging

Yeah… and probably trying to run around 1000 px in generic serial is stressing my Arduinos…

    Lawn Props

Hi all, I was just wondering, how does everyone deal with props on the lawn and cables going to these props? Don't mow? Because it is a pain moving them out and in each week, especially in a Queensland summer.

Looking for someone to help build and install a commercial display with lights that sync to music

Lol! Do you happen to have some free login details for that? 😏

How Bright is TOO Bright? And have we found the winner?

Ah, I remember that display. Not synched to music, but absolutely amazing. Their roof spots… 🤌🤌🤌 It’s disappointing that they were shut down by abuse, but that’s people for you. (The real problem was that there was only one way out of their estate…) And I heard a rumour that they might be...

    …debugging

Hi All. Dont you just hate debugging your setup. I had my (very small, around 1000px) Arduino setup all working inside, moved it outside, set it all up, and now it doesn’t work! Turns out my 1c jumper cable broke, and I have to de-solder around 5 connections to get it out… Is their an easier...

    MIDI?

Hi @Itsthatguy Why not, instead of trying to sync with xLights, just split the MIDI signal, send one to, say, MainStage for sound, and another to a lighting software of choice? Thanks, Dino.
