    Hi and welcome!

    Another power injection question

I've drawn up two different power injections that will work depending on if you are using the same power supply, or if you are using different power supplies for the second string. See if this is how you are wiring it.

Controller Wiring - Using Power Bus line

Would using Network cable work? Was thinking 1 pair for each output - 1 data & 1 ground. Would get me 4 outputs in one cable?

Controller Wiring - Using Power Bus line

Thanks for the detailed description Skymaster. I've read over your response a number of times and i think i understand it, but still quite complected for me. What size wiring would you recommend in this situation for both data and ground? Thanks

Controller Wiring - Using Power Bus line

I can't say i really understand the comment about the voltage rise on the negative, but more than willing to implement it to make sure it works. You mention a second ground. Are you meaning a ground from each pixel output, or just another ground cable that is connected direct from the...

Our Church. Adam Brand and Matt Cornell

Nicely done! I’m hoping to try sequencing for the first time this year. Quite overwhelming and requires a metric HoHoHo tonne of time! I can imagine the satisfaction of seeing your own work during the Christmas season!

Good call on the fuses, very important. Fuses will be used at each branch off points

Controller Wiring - Using Power Bus line

Hi All, Looking at different options for wiring a large matrix, and at the same time trying to keep the weight down as much as possible. I am planning on having the garage door operational so the weight is quite important. What i am looking at doing is running a power bus using larger gauge...

12v 12v for reduced power injection as Mark mentioned, but also because the rest of my display is 12v and I don't really want to deal with multiple voltages. Next question you need to decide on is seed spacing! lots of debate on that front. I've gone with mostly 3cm (super close) but also a...

perhaps i misunderstood the potential pit falls when i they were explained to me a while ago. I confess i'm very much a novice on how the dual data lines work. Based on your response, it seems it's even better than i thought for performance/redundancy the start of a string. I wasn't aware that...

    Shopping List

I've ordered just over 18k seed pixels this year with dual data wiring, but i am getting them wired up to standard 3 pin connectors rather than 4 pin. There is some small downsides, in that if you get a failure between the first and second pixel it will take out the full string. However, if you...

    Bunnings lights with Controller System?

XLights is the main program used. It’s free and you can have a play around before you get in to deep and buy a bunch of controllers and power supplies. There are also lots of free sequences on the xLights Google drive that are a good place to start.
