I have had similar intermittent problems and they usually turn out to be a faulty pixel, I am assuming a bad solder joint somewhere. I usually stand out and watch the prop and when the failure occurs I get a clue about where the last working pixel is and I push that one out. Watch it some more...
My megatree failed this year after 3 years of running with only minor pixel replacements.
All strands (24 by 75) tested before they went up with only the usual 1 or 2 faulty pixels. Stood the tree up and had six pixels fail, followed by another 8 and so on.
Started replacing strings, either 50...
Now I have had a good nights sleep I can laugh a little about this. I didn't notice that the little plastic clip on the cable was broken, probably would have heard the click if the neighbour wasn't mowing. Plugged it in got the two network lights to say I had connection. The cable was a bit long...
Hi,
I updated my PI3 to a 4 and went from FPPv5.x up to FPP7.x
Have not changed my network setting on the F16v3 but set up the FPP as below.
Ethernet -

I have tried both IP Forwarding options, and a combination of them and just for thoroughness, one on and one off etc...
For the past few years I have been running the audio of my show using portable 'pill' speakers, powered from the power injection cables (5v) with audio cables running through the yard. Whilst it has worked OK most brands of speakers require turning on each night or selecting aux input. Also once...
Excluding building new bits and new programming etc, in the last week in November I start testing everything and doing minor repairs, replace pixels, replace o-rings etc. Then 2 or 3 days to install and then lights on 1st December. I tried to make it a 1 day install but, and this may surprise...
I run USB speakers with audio cable from the RPI as well. I do run a splitter to run multiple speakers. USB is 5V as are my lights, so I use the power from the lights to run the speakers. It works well except for a few little issues.
1. If the speaker cable runs are too long and too close to...
Manage to find a video on my phone, but can't work out how to post it here, will upload to videos and link that.
I liked how it looked and I thought is added a nice illusion of depth, particularly good for people off to one side. As always bigger would have been better.
I live in the tropics...
Hi,
I have speakers in my yard plus a (or is that an?) FM transmitter. Around 9am I turn the volume down which also turns the volume down on the FM transmitter.
Is there a way to just reduce the volume just on the speakers, ie can I run 2 sound blasters and just mute one, or maybe use the GPIO...
Hi,
I have a stocking with a matrix on it. I have downloaded the right model etc etc.
When I put text on the matrix I get a single line of bulbs only (in preview).
I have tried different fonts, font sizes, os fonts and most render styles.
Even tried on 2 computers, always a single line.
Any...
My clunky way of doing it.
1. Right click on the nearest phenome, and select divide, and divide by two so you have the old phenome and a blank one.
2. On the blank one hold down the shift key and double click and then type in the phenome you want.
To get the list of phenomes I have previously...
@Skymaster I think you are right, I went back and checked my editing and it muted both channels.
@merryoncherry I like the concept and think that will become next years project.
thank you both for the feedback
