I bought lots of bottles of glycerine/glycerol for that purpose (as well as for my smoke machines) ... until I realised that $1/L bottles of pre-made bubble stuff from the cheapie shops are really good value ... I bought a fair few ... and they have lasted about 4 yrs ... and I still have a fair...
