All storage tubs I've purchased from kmart/bunnings have not been very UV resistant.. but then again I wasnt necessarily buying them for use outside. So that could have something to do with it.
I have seen, plenty of times, those plugin transformers used outside in the weather. I wouldnt personally recommend it.. but the ones I've seen seem to be ok.
You can get "wetherproof" boxes used for traditional xmas lights, that you can put a powerboard and plugs in to keep them out of the...
Gday All,
So the story goes..
Late 2022 I received a couple "grandfathered" license keys from teh FPP guys for 1 of each HE123v1 and HE123v2 controllers.
Last year, about a week before lights on, we blew up the v2 controller (12V connected to the 5V connector). We visited the local northern...
Thanks for the reply.. I understand now.
Just to note.. I will be zig-zagging vertically.
When I stated "forward" and "backward" what I meant by this is "left to right" and "right to left" with the zig-zagging. (I should have explained better).
I have used "alternate node" last year with some...
I never thought of doing it this way. The matrices are all off the same controller.
If I combine 2 or 4 of the matrices in a custom model, do they have to be connected to sequential outputs on the same controller?
ie.. outputs 1-10 for matrix 1 & 2, outputs 11-16 for other stuff.. then outputs...
Don't get me wrong, I know how to set it up in xlights. And I will (today) do a test mock up in xlights to test the sequencing of the groups for the matrix.
Its just that in the past (with the arches) I'd also done in xlights testing and it all worked ok.. but testing in real life the arches...
Just a heads up, I ordered some (about 90 total) pre-made 4-wire seed pixel strings in 5V with RayWu plugs.. 100 pixels long. I tested some strings and found all of them had a "dud" pixel on both the start and end of each string. Thinking this was weird, I also tested with another controller and...
G'day all, hope you's are doing well.
We're making 4 seed pixel matrices (matrixeses). I want to run the cables for data and power up the center pole and wire the RHS 2 matrices left to right and wire the LHS 2 matrices right to left (see attached quality illustration). If I group these all...
I kinda forgot to fill the form in till the 18th.. so I could be the only one representing SA.. lol
here it is btw:

Yeah, I might think about adding these extra channels to the controllers that I may add to in coming years.
As I have had to re-render a few times lately (61 sequences yesterday when I did it last), I've taken notice of the system resources whilst rendering. System memory is at about 60% usage...
This is for anyone who finds this in the future (and probably me next year after I forget this)
After discussing this in chat, the general consensus is to put the static, unchanged controllers at the top of the list (ie panels and for us the projector pi) and the pixel controllers at...
The Problem:
Small changes in pixel numbers on a controller causes knock-on effects to other outputs and other controllers. This causes the sequences to look all messed up.
The Fix:
Re-render and re-upload all the sequences to all the controllers.
How this affects me:
I have about 45 sequences...
Another note.
We "blew up" one of our HE123v2 controllers coz we (not me) connected 12V into the 5V input for the controller power input. The controller no longer functions, but I took the BBB off and bench tested that briefly and it appears to still work.. so maybe double check this?
I'm...
Hey,
I too are having similar problems with my BBB connected to a HE123v1 controller. For me, the light on the network switch periodically flashes on and off again (stays of for a few seconds then off again for 5-10s).. is this the same for you also?
Your problem may not be the same as mine...
