After reading your last post, I WILL be using 5v for future/replacement sets ! I will add some 5v output DC-DC buck converters to my next order so I can ease in 5v strings with as little trouble as possible.
Question: will able be able to insert a 5v string between 12v strings as...

Knock-On-Wood, I bought only pigtails from Ray to make my own T's (2,3, and 4 core), and have not had any bad ones to date.

So far I have measured between 2.55A and 2.75A at full white (51 to 55mA/pixel). Luckily the body of the pixel has only been slightly warm after...

Got home form work this morning and tried 2 more sets for testing (bought 16 total). Similar results :( ... With 1st set only connected, this is what I measured at end of string:
After adding the second string, this is what I measured at end of second string:

Could Rays 6' leads w/pigtail be the culprit ? (can't really judge what the wire size is, but it is the same as between pixels) I haven't cut and shortened on as of yet.

I double checked and my power supply is in fact outputting 12.2v

I'm sorry, my picture is actually wrong. I am in fact using ONLY power supply power. Strange thing though. While checking again, I never brought GND from the controller output though. Could this be causing...
I'm a NEWBIE and have found ACL and it's members to be the best and most helpfull. Because of this, I hope I can contribute a little back. After TONS of research and reading, I began putting together my 1st testing for what I wanted. Following will be my "initial" findings. Hope it may help...
Thank You everyone!!! Thanks to this site I am now experimenting with BLINKY :) . Just placed my second order with Ray. I guess I do have the addiction BAD ... lol
First off ... Sorry if this is a lengthy post (can't see "flooding" with multiple posts) (if this is the wrong area, PLEASE move)
After doing SOOOO much research (reading & chat) on ACL, I started to get a handle on things. Received a ECG-P2, power supplies, WS2811 Pixel Strip, Raspberry Pi...
Can't wait to get home from work and do up a spreadsheet from Ray ... The info and assistance I have received from ACL has thus far made my initial steps into this great hobby rather painless !!!! ... Looking forward to testing things out to see what things I can incorporate into my ideas I have...

I WILL get spare PSU !!! ... As for the power injection T's, I am fairly ok at soldering, so I was planning on making my own to rule out any wiring differences in pre-made T's and to also create my own "standard" for my display. Does that sound like a good approach?
