Did you update the sequence between it working and not? Try opening the sequence in xlights, render all button then save. See if that changes anything.

Don't power the pixels through the controller. Power the controller with a micro USB if you need to. Then the pixels from the power supply you have. The data to the data line of the led need to be close to the controller, like less...
You fried it if you're using a 12v power supply for sure. Use a 5v power supply to VIN and Gnd. I am using esp8266 controllers for my entire show including megatree with no issue. Nothing else needed except maybe a logic level shifter if the controller is not right at the first led.

Testing my show tonight and realised there are two sequences in the show that aren't rendering properly. The colours are completely off. When I play in xlights and this happens I click render all button and it fixes the issue. I don't see a button or option in xscheduler to do this.
