Here is a rare view into a pixel manufacturers factory

fascinating. I'm sure this is one of the better manufacturers.. they've packed the people into that office though, see the cubicle farm!! the factory looks well laid out and good for workers. Don't need backs on chairs when you're leaning forward all day but the plastic seat would not be...

Sydney/NSW 2012 Sydney Mini Sunday 08/07/12 - Please Confirm Your Attendance

Sorry for the late notice Eddy and others, I can make it :) Keen on a parking pass if at all possible! If there's any interest in my RGB pixel board and a loading dock pass is available I could be persuaded to bring it along.. pretty sure it fits in the car :P Geoff

In the news - 331,038 lights in Canberra

Congrats on the world record David, doesn't matter what happens next year the point is this year you are officially the most CLAP-infected person on the planet ;D fantastic effort.. that's a LOT of lights (guiness world record candidate for biggest understatement of the year).

    How NOT to waterproof 240V

Absolutely. If it was only person who did that at risk it would just be a Darwin award candidate, but the chances of kids and visitors coming onto the property and not realising what's going on is a real worry.

My pixels have got moisture in them

damn, that sucks! I did look at the front of the pixels and wonder how well it was sealed, as most of the mention has been about the back of them (cable entry). I would certainly email Ray and let him know what's happened and see what he says.

    Pixelated goodness

Cheers guys! Here's a video from across the street so you can see how it looks in perspective to the building: XMAS RGB Pixel Matrix 2 as you can see my neighbours need to lift their game a bit ;)

    Pixelated goodness

Video of final display sequence below, I live in a 3rd floor unit and the display is mounted on my balcony railing which is about 6-8 metres above ground level. Looks really nice from across the road!! The video camera I was using had some focus issues, it's a friend's and neither of us really...

SPI Controller...has anyone use this before?

If it speaks SPI they must supply you with a datasheet. The datasheet tells you operating parameters, interfaces and protocols. They should give you this before purchasing so you can see if it's suitable for your use. If you can't get a datasheet from the seller then don't buy it. If he...

My first steps into computer controlled lights

I can see that you have used mains flex for your 30V power connection between the PSU and the DC48. Please replace this cable with something more suitable!!! It's very bad practice to use mains flex for low voltage cabling, not because it can't handle low voltage at all but because it makes...
