    ECG-PPR-B Enclosure

Excellent work! I used PVC pipe with caps, and it works, but this is much nicer.

    P12R troubleshooting assistance needed

It would appear that Outs 1,2, and 4 on PPD #1 are not functioning. #2 has never been used before, so that is crummy. I find it odd that OUT3 would be cruising along seemingly unaffected.

    P12R troubleshooting assistance needed

Existing gear that was working fine last season (2013), now it is behaving like entire strings are bad (which may be possible). Equipment: Software is LOR3 outputting e1.31 J1Sys P12R J1Sys PPD-C (x3 category cable output board w/ 4 outputs) J1Sys PPR-A (x12 to cover all outputs) When I lit up...

    Found the ECG-PPI-A

I use the PPI in my P12 and PPD system. In cases where I have more than 25 nodes on an element, I use the PPI to inject power into nodes 26 and beyond. At this time, I do not have any single element over about 55 nodes and this is working well for me. My source voltage is 36v and my nodes are 5v.

J1Sys PPx solution wiring questions - connecting the P12x>PPD-C>PPR-A>PPI

Sadly, I think I hurt a PPD-c board tonight. I have attached photos with descriptions to see if anyone can see an obvious error in my wiring and setup. 12v supply feeding the P12x > feeding the PPD-c > feeding the PPR > feeding the nodes. smoke was seen exiting the PPD. My guess is the dc dc...

J1Sys PPx solution wiring questions - connecting the P12x>PPD-C>PPR-A>PPI

I was able to catch up with Ed (j1sys) in Chat and found some answers to a few of my questions. -Ed suggested 24v (1A) per output. I would prefer to keep it simple and use one supply for feed the solution, so in this case, Ed agreed that a 24v (12A) supply would work. He indicated that the...

J1Sys PPx solution wiring questions - connecting the P12x>PPD-C>PPR-A>PPI

Hello, I received my j1sys products, but am unclear on exactly how to connect the chain of devices. In principle, I understand what the solution is designed to do with respect to gateway>transport over cat5>receiver>pixel+power injector if needed. Prior to coming to the forum to ask the...

    Ray Wu's meteor (snow) tubes

I have used similar 20cm tubes in my show for the past two years and viewers rave about them as a favorite element. When putting mine away this year, I did see condensation buildup and oxidation on the contacts, so I need to dry mine and seal them. I will be looking to buy these from Ray this...

To have or have not - Voice Overs

I like having them! They can be fun, informative, and make the display even more professional. I added these this year, and they are my favorite (once they are personalized for your display): http://radiovoiceimaging.com/christmas customized example I am using At the Texas mini this year...

The pitfalls of using cheap chinese power supplies

Geoff, I am using 16/4 for my data line, but only using 2 conductors. I think I may have the problem you are describing. A 3rd conductor is transporting the ground from the DMX source, but that gets dropped out at the first stop in the chain. It now sounds like I should use legs 3 and 4 of...

    C9 pixel Strings Now Available

Given the positioning up against the PVC, I think water getting in between the wires is less likely. I also plan on placing a dab of silicone where the wires separate. I am going to glue the covers on in the extended positon, so I have to touch each one anyways. The still image capture of...

    C9 pixel Strings Now Available

Mark, I do not have any still shots - but this other video should show you what I did. Just one tie above and below the node: C9 pixel chase with lsp

    C9 pixel Strings Now Available

Sorry for not making that clear. The small square in the center middle is the Retro-sun warm white C9 LEDs. I wanted to compare for light dispersion and diffusion relative to the covers and how they were positioned on the pixel node. The frame on the right has the lights as delivered from...

Ray Wu mini DMX to Pixel Controllers

In chatting with Ray last night, he revealed that his engineer can encode these for any channel count. Previously, we thought this was limited to 128/256/512, but he can program them for anything you need...

    C9 pixel Strings Now Available

I tested these this weekend and was happy with the results. C9 pixel vs c9 LED Retro I will be applying silicone between the wires behind the node just to ensure it is sealed, and I will be fixing the c9 cover near the end of the node. When I received them, the node was jammed all the way...
