    Holes in PSU

It’s really not safe to push screws through the PSU holes and secure them to the PSU body. If you do decide to do it, use nylon screws not metal. Those SMPS can have up to 350v floating around inside so a loose screw could accidentally shove that voltage through your lights.

    Hey everybody!!

Hey Claire To echo what Graham said, it too guts to get up in front of everyone and learn about Xlights on the fly. We have all been beginners once, so don’t hesitate to reach out- you got this! Also, don’t forget the zoom room. It’s a great resource when trying to wrap your head around...

    Large P10?

Another vote for seed pixel matrices. I ran 2x matrices last season and they worked really well. 3500 x600 @ 840 pixels and 5000 x 400 @ 800 pixels, both with 2inch spacing, on Baldrick 8’s (thanks Alan!). The refresh rate seemed to be ever so slightly faster than bullet pixels which I...

What tool/accessory/gadget do you think we should all get?

I built myself a multifunction meter that I can drop into a channel when testing. It’s based on an RC battery monitor and shows volts, amps and watts in real time. Admittedly a multimeter does the same thing, but I wanted something quick and dirty so that I didn’t need to carry my fancy...

Trouble with playback of Golden on car radios [Solved]

I have to admit, my 4yo asked me to play Golden in the car this afternoon which I begrudgingly obliged. Our car has a decent sound system in it so I was pretty shocked at the range, depth and amplitude of bass frequencies it has in it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the modulator in the FM...

Trouble with playback of Golden on car radios [Solved]

Out of curiosity, have you plugged headphones into the sound card to confirm if it’s the audio output or the transmitter???

    Outdoor enclosure mounts

Great job with using those Arlec boxes and the creative 3D design! Regarding future enclosures, If you don’t go don’t the path of white electrical enclosure from such as the ones from Hanson Electronics, I can highly recommend the tactix (pellican style) boxes from Bunnings as an option to...

Troy’s phone number is still active and available on his website but he is not taking new orders. He is now working in a full time role, so likely unable to answer during working hours.

    Using Copyrighted Music

Just rebooting this conversation as a gentle reminder about the licensing process, if you plan to obtain one, as we get closer to the 2025 season start. I applied for my licence last night and had it granted and sent through by 8.30 this morning!!! Felicity at APRA was incredibly efficient...

    Glands

I've put put a small "Dab" (amount) of Epoxy glue on the thread when tightening up. It acts like a 'thread locker'. Its keeps mine in place.
