Greetings,

I connected a 4-pin fan to the fan controller on the F16V5 and it does not seem to fire up the fan. Am I missing the control options on the UI? I believe on previous versions there was a threshold setting. When I first plug in the fan, it will rev up for a moment, but does not turn on beyond that no matter how warm the board gets.

Short of controlling the fan with the F16, how can I get it to run off a 12v PS so it just runs continuously? This would also be a viable option for me.

Thanks

Connect the red and black wires to positive and negative respectively.
When the blue control wire is disconnected the fan will spin up to 100%. You can even just disconnect this wire and keep the fan plugged into the Falcon.

The yellow wire is a tachometer sense wire so the device can read the fan speed. It can also be left disconnected.

I'll try it again, but when I first tried just the red and black it did not work.

hey so for a 4 pin, to get the fan working off the board, i pulled the 4th pin out (Blue / PWM). You can just cut the wire or pull the pin out of the plug!
Not sure why the 4th pin stops the fan when the software says it should be running. Disabling the 4th pin will set the fan to full speed i think though.

The 4 pins are power ground pwm and sense. The f16 does not use the sense wire.

even with no pwm the fan will run a medium speed. Controller then pumps up speed using pwm signal.
