How do you attach your Lights to a Colorbond Roof Line?

I just bought a light kit that consists of 4 reindeers and a Santa sleigh which I would like to mount on my roof which is made from Colourbond…
Any other ideas?
Are you trying to mount they are standing up? You can try a satellite dish mount system. If flat you can use conduit, screws and the conduit holders by using the colorbond screws

Hi All, I'm looking at my first roof install this year. I have decided to use conduit and attempt to mount with conduit clips from bunnings using magnets. I can find the magnets online but wondering where people are getting the plastic perspex to stick the magnets on (then heat shrinking all together). Are people just buying a sheet of perspex and cuting to size themselves or can you buy small precut pieces. Is there another way that avoids using the perspex? I'm just trying to work out the best way to make these clips for the conduit. Thanks everyone

If you have access to a 3d printer, there a number of places you can get conduit clips with magnet mounts that you can print. That is what I am trying this year.

You don't have to use Perspex cutting it can be tricky if you don't have the right tools and you need to drill the hole for the screw at the right size otherwise the Perspex will crack. A sign maker or plastic merchant should be able to cut what you want BUT at a cost. The heat shrink is used to keep the magnets from rusting and leaving a rust stain on the Colourbond it also stops the magnet from scratching the roof as well I know the ones that I have made work well and are a few years old now and they are still on the roof from last year as I had a personal injury two days before last Christmas and was not able to take them down they still look good but will have a closer check on them when I get the time to . Remember to be very careful on your roof it is the most dangerous place to be for this hobby.

What would you use instead of the perspex, you would still need something for the 2x magnets to stick to right.. then attach to clip?

you could use timber, aluminium or even steel. I used Perspex because it won't rot, corrode or rust just make the size to suit your own magnets and the thickness only has to be thick enough to get the screw to bite in enough and yeah it's just used as a medium to stick the magnets to and to screw the clip on to.
