Last minute decision to give pixel led christmas lights a go
Started off ordering 1000 seed pixels from rawyu start of november with plans to run a house outline and a few other small bits with esp32 controllers
Escalated to ordering another 2000 pixels and a baldrick controller mid november
Had the basics up and running by start of december, adding/modifying to it up until i packed up today.

Controller: Baldrick8
PSU: 12v 250w cheapy i had from an old 3d printer
Cabling: 100m of Alarm cable
Lights: Around 2500 Raywu seed pixels - 50mm and 100mm spacing
Music: Pulsemesh streaming
Props: All DIY with a lot of 3d printing.

Plans for 2025:
More lights / Props inc more house outlines, snow flakes, mega tree, mini trees, another more dense matrix (maybe p5)
FM Transmitter and push for music
Signage (eg tune to, times)

Nice work! 👏
I am new as well and didn't know the seed pixels could be this bright and uniform (or that they came in 12 volt).
I started with some bullet pixels that light up our gable side-on. For 2025 I want some house outlines that face the street but the bullets don't look right in my tests. Might have to give the seed pixels a go.

that was also only running at 50% brightness

This is great! I'm finally looking at replacing the strip I've been using for my roof outline since I started (my last bit of strip and I'm sick of it! haha) and was looking at seed pixels. Did you notice any issues with heat off the roof and the seeds? (My roof is tiles and gets quite hot)

As far as light, do they only light up from one way? Asking so I can work out a good way to mount to stop the cables turning in the wind.

Any other tips for using seeds on the roof that you found?
