1 Prop intermittently just on :-(

Hi All,

Running my system off FPP no issues.. Noticed about an hour in, the candy canes become stuck on this light pattern. No flashing or anything - just static but bright. Doesn't change during the breaks between songs just remains the same.
I assume it could be a wiring issue but just double checking before I redo any of my wiring..

Is it 12V? If it is 12V and it gets stuck on white but works again if you unplug and replug, you should try a data amp in the line to it.

Of course there are other possible explanations...

It's 12V yes and it does work again if I unplug and replug it back in.. Data amp? I'll have a look. It's only 400 nodes and has worked fine for the last few years. but I'll research into that... thanks.

Well, these things can be touchy ... if you can shorten or thicken the extension to it (or add another one to the other end of the string to add more power that might fix it. Or ... it could also be a bit of corrosion on a connector, or a problem with the pixel string that developed. But, as a 12V person, I have so many data amps crawling around here that's the first miracle cure I reach for when something locks on white... often fixes it; also when I put the amp in I get a chance to check the connection for any visible issues (water, corrosion) as well.

If you get a chance to try test patterns, see if it locks on white ... if that's the case you can dim it at the controller until you have a chance to change the cabling.
