New to the hobby. I just purchased a 4.9m x 1.4m seed pixel matrix almost 11,000 pixels.

Something i didnt think about was repairability and now im questioning my decision.

Im a pretty good with a solder, but how hard is it to repair seed pixels with 1” spacing? Shud i have gone 2” spacing?

Anyone have tips and tricks.

I have not had to replace any seed pixels as yet but when I add the tails to them I cut right up to the pixel that I take off to leave the longest tail to join on to which can mean I waste one pixel in my 1" spacing string
You could do the same if you have to replace and just bend back the excess and cable tie it so as to keep your 1" spacing

I went with 1 inch spacing on 3000 seed pixels this year. I have found it very difficult to repair due to lack of space between pixels when trying to join. I have spent far too long trying to rejoin compared to previous with large spacing. I think first join took me about 30 minutes due to trying all different options. There is not enough space to put heat shrink over it as it melts when soldering.
Too close for 3m scotch locks.
Tried the heat shrink with the solder in it but pretty much had to cut all the heatshrink off each side so was pretty much just the solder part left.
I have resorted to soldering and small electrical tape which not happy with, but it is working.
