Can I control a 5050 without DMX? In other words, can I just power each color independant of each other via a LOC DC board? Also, what voltage do these require?

Yes Dano.

Just get the wiring correct, with the correct resistors for voltage drop.

voltages will be different for each colour, but I am sure someone will jump on with those figures.

The 5050 modules that are popular on PC right now are easily controlled with a dc controller and a 12v power supply. Nothing else required.

The 5050 LED modules and strip are basically 3 x 5050 LEDs with resitors running at 12VDC so all that you require is the correct voltage and/or resistor values to be able to use these babies. Ask Smartalec all about it as he has played around a bit with the 5050 LEDs and he has cooked a few as well. ;)
