Just wondering how big the star is? I'm looking to recycle a multicolour 100- light string to light a corflute star but not sure how many lights I'll need to light a 600mm star

The RGB stars I have (which are made of perspex, but same sort of thing) are around the same size (500mm across), and have 17 pixel modules in them (the rectangle modules with 3x 5050 leds).

They're certainly pretty bright, but not over the top.

I have added an extra module. Let me know your feedback.

Looks good in terms of brightness!

From the video, the light is much brighter around the modules, but that may just be the video.. If that's how it looks in person, one option could be to make the stars thicker, and have the modules further back from the Coro, which should diffuse the light a bit more and give you a more even spread of light.. But really depends on how you want it to look, of course!

Good advise and what i was going to ask. i use both methods, either the moduules wedged between two strips so the module is diffussed but still bright or the other method where the corex is far enough away that the light is evenly diffused. Either way works well depending on the effect you are looking for.

I did try and double the thickness of the front of the star but it did not defuse the light as well as expected. What did work was when I moved the front further away from the lights. Looks good. Will post a video in the coming days of the updated results.
Thanks to all that have chipped in with guidance.

Great job. I like the effect they give of a full star when on full brightness but can see the modules as they dim as I think it makes it look lie the star is shrinking when dimming.
