I'm thinking of doing a strobe bulk buy. If you want any of them then reply to this post with the following information.

Name: your user ID
Complete ACL: the total number of ACL Mk2.5 strobe panels you'd like
PCB only: the total number of printed circuit boards so you can load them later
Country: where do you live

There's info on the last bulk buy from 2014 at http://auschristmaslighting.com/forums/index.php?topic=6196.0

There's a wiki page on them as well as a thread showing videos and further info.

The assembly guide for the panels is at http://auschristmaslighting.com/wiki_source/images/0/00/Rough_as_guts_assembly_guide_1.2.pdf

The change from Mk2 to Mk2.5 would be the addition of an 0805 sized 1uF capacitor because some DC boards like the Ray Wu 27 channel board don't fully turn on and off at 0 and 255 dmx levels.

The guesstimated cost would be about $US90 for a panel of 48 landed in either Aust or the US.

If there is enough interest in the next week or 2 I will organise a bulk buy with an expected turnaround of 4 weeks. I will possibly do another in September.

Last time the prices were in Aussie dollars and were as below. This caused some issues as the Aussie dollar was in a bit of freefall and all the parts and delivery were paid for in US dollars.

8mm leds, 48 pixel sleeves, 48 C7 covers, 48 current set resistors Price $AU100
-Bare (48 strobe) pcb with no components on it. Price $AU7.50
-Loaded pcb (48 strobe) with PIC and led driver ICs installed, firmware pre-loaded Price $AU65
-Pixel sleeves to suit 8mm LED Price $AU2 for 10
-C7 covers Price $AU2 for 10
-8mm 0.75W white LED Price $AU5 for 10

The expected $US90 is for a panel of 48 loaded strobe pcbs that have the firmware loaded into them already. What is needed to finish them off is add the current set resistor, the led, some figure 8 wire in and out, put it into the pixel sleeve that is supplied, fill it with silicon or epoxy and then put the cover on them.
As I still have a couple hundred here that I didn't get finished last year due to running out of time I'm not the expert on how the silicon or whatever is added. I hope to actually get mine filled up with goo sometime in the next few weeks
In the manual that is linked above you can see what the panel looks like (after the resistors are added though). The panel is pretty tiny with each of the 48 boards in the panel only being something like 11mm square.
To run them all you need to do is apply 5V via a relay or a DC channel of a board.

I would be interested in another two

Complete ACL: 2
PCB only: 0
Country: USA

Me too, still haven't finished the other ones, but another 100 strobes won't hurt anything right?

I'd be keen for 2 sets fully made with covers

OK, call me dumb, but do these come with the resistor and led? if not, what led do I need and where do I get it from?
The resistor is ok, I have plenty of those.

There is (for each of the 48 boards on a panel)
-a loaded board that has the 2 IC's on it with the micro pre-programmed
-the current set resistor to suit 1W white leds
-1W white LED
-C9 (I think) cover
-pixel sleeve to allow potting in silicon or epoxy

Hopefully a photo from last year will help.
You get 5 item types.
Boards, resistors, LED's, rubberized sleeves, and C7orC9 covers
So, some assembly required.

I already have 2 sets of these as parts, hence why I said I would have 2 completely built sets with wires, covers & the lot. I haven't put the last ones together yet....
