ACL Strobes Power Calculation

So - I am getting my spreadsheet on and working out loads and such to plan power supplies in my display.

How many watts should I allow for the ACL strobes?

They will be powered while the show is running and I will trigger them with the the ground of a controller.

I did some measurements and for 16 of them running here and the peak current drawn once the strobes were running was only about 600mA. When initially started with the trigger on it was up to 1.7A because a few strobes were programmed with the same code and triggered at the same time. Once running for a few seconds the current soon settles to just 600mA peak

I easily ran 50 of them with a 60 watt power supply, so the current requirements are fairly low, so with the 60 watt power supply i could run a lot more

As my display is exclusively 12v, except for the strobes, I am thinking I will purchase some DC-DC 12v->5v converters just for them.


They are 3 amp so if I use them in each strobe "area" I should be able to load them up with say 20-30 each.
