Have started a project for Halloween. Making an animated ghoul to chat with our visitors.

Pinched the eyes from thingyverse.com but a good place to start. The body, eyes and universal joints etc are printed with or Makerbot Replicator 2X. The other parts - servos and arms etc are from Hobbyking.com. Purchased the roller bearing and rod from China.

Mouth to follow and then plan to move onto new adventures with making skin....

Dont forget to add Six drops of The Essence of Terror & Five drops of Sinister Sauce.
And when the stirring's done, may I lick the spoon?

That's pretty cool start. Tell more about the fine details please. At some point this coming hear I hope to find an Oscar the grouch to animate in a garbage can to fit with my other 3 Sesame Street characters I've picked up in the last 2 years.

Animatronic Ghoul / Owl

OK so he is now an Owl....part of my Halloween theme for this year

Aim is for him to chat with the people as they walk past.

And here he is..
Owl-side.gif

And there are some more bits which need to fit inside him
Owl-and-bits.gif

And I am assuming you want to see his insides
Owl-Back.gif

And eventually he will have some more outside bits - ears, crest etc - and then he will be cute.....although a bit scary when you are walking past!

Well at least there is some progress.....now Tuppet only needs to tinker with the software.

I need suggestions for a name???

He's white, he's an owl so he has to be called Hedwig doesn't he/she?

Looks like he's going to be the first owl ever who could move his eyeballs in his head (real owls can't move their eyeballs, have to move there whole head).

Scooter the hooter.

All - Thanks for suggested names. Looks like Hedwig is leading 2 votes to others 1 each (Hooters, Scooter and Owly). Keep up the suggestions.

Bundy Roy thanks for the info on the eyes but your average Owl also does not talk to you either... 8)
