Anyone used artifial Christmas trees?

i have used a small tree i got at cheap as chips & put lights on it not out door lights but used them out side in a small little mermaid display it looked pritty good but over time the tree sufferd the meatal rusted & eventualy broke i havent replaced it for like 3 years
