Hi guys, just ordered a whole bunch of pixels from Paul Zhang.

Ive seen a lot of videos where the amount of setup would be huge, 1 of 2 things is happening, they are either there permanently OR a lot of packing up and setting up. lol
The pixels are obviously designed for outdoor wear and tear. but how many of you actually leave the lights up all year round?

So now i need to know how you guys mount them? i'll be running a lot of lines along Gutters / Fascias which could be more of a permanent thing, but stuff like Talking trees which i'm planning on setting up on my roller door, or window frames / Garden etc will be less permanent. lol

I saw one suggestion in the numerous pages i've seen where someone used "Magnetic Bull clips" which i thought was a smart idea for their roof. easy to remove and wont leave a residue.

so just getting feeler out on what your great find was that you wished you had seen earlier in the game.

Also, second question. What spacings do you guys run at for this stuff?

I setup and take down every year. Setup takes longer as I have to wait for the wife to have the final say on the layout (not that it changes too much but trees are getting bigger and can hide some parts of the display).

For the house roof line I use 25mm conduit with holes drilled about 50mm apart (I took inspiration from someone else on this forum). I then glued magnets to PVC clip-on saddles that hold them in place on my corrugated roof.

I have now also used the same clip-on saddles to hold some pops to the brick wall after making conduit supports for my props. This has worked well and I will be putting more up this year. I will post some pics once I take them down later today. A bit late in removing everything due to working.

Here is one of the verticals I mounted either side of my entry.

Thanks Bazza, that's a REALLY smart design.
thanks for your input. will definitly look at something like that as it looks like it creates magical space where you wouldnt normally be able to attach things!

on a side note, i see you have about 300 pixels on that and in the second pic you can see 2 x T-junctions for what i'm guessing is power injection ?
so you needed extra power for the 300 pixels?

I use 5v pixels and power inject every 100 pixels. With 12v pixels I believe you can extend this to 200 (someone who uses 12v can chime in here).

For 12V pixels (depending on brightness, most people run around 30% brightness). You would likely need power at the start as normal, and power injection at the end of the 300 pixels. Meaning the max distance from power is 150pixels. You can extend this out to 200pixels (ie power at the 400 mark). But as pixels typically come in strings of 100, i would at the Power injection at the 300 point, that way 150 max distance for the first 300 pixels, and 100 distance for the last 100 pixels.
