    Hi All

I'm trying to make ASAP pole and want to know what others here might have used to make their telescoping Mega Trees

Here is the problem I run into My original meta tree was a 50mm pipe in the ground and than a 4 metre 40mm pipe that was inserted in the 50mm pipe. (This was solid but way hard to put up) Now I want to make a telescoping tree and the next size I can get is 32mm but this will not fit into the 40mm pipe. The 25mm pipe would have too much slop. I could do a medium duty 32mm --> 25mm --> 20mm and wondering if the 20mm would be to weak at the top I want to raise the tree to a height of around 5 -6 metres

    Thoughts

Have a look at aluminium tubing.... I've used 48mm x 4.4mm thick walls scaffolding tubing, with 38mm x 3mm thick walls that slotted inside the 48mm.

6m lengths for each, and total of around $140 for both poles.

Much lighter than your usual galvanised poles, and easier to deal with by yourself.
