Best way to mount bulb style lights

Hi Everyone,

When I got my lights I got these 12V lights which were on 4 pillars. I want to mount them on either side of my garage.

Previous owner had them siliconed to wood frames hung over a pillar which lasted a season or two but then eventually fell off. I was hoping to fix them more robustly.

Had thoughts about sliding inside a bigger pipe cut done one side, or in wide elastic pulled right at either end. I’ll have to mount them on the wall somehow.

Any thoughts or opinions? TIA.

Depending on how large the pillar is, if you still plan to use it, you could cable tie above and below each light just where the cables enter the fitting to secure it and add silicon to the back for extra support. Another option would be electrical conduit held up with half saddles or clips if you're trying to find something to mount to.

I wonder if @Troy ELD can make chromatrim but to fit those bulbs, like Boscoyo's pixabulb trim? Then mount that to pvc conduit clipped to the wall?

Yeah the bulb is way bigger than the base, so don't know if that chromatrim would work or not. Interesting product though.

I have the same bulbs and use the Pixatrim from Boscoyo and ziptie it to PVC pipe. Not sure if that's something Troy offers or not. You can pop the cover/bulb off but takes some work FYI. What I use https://boscoyostudio.com/product/5-center-pixatrim/

Square aluminium extrusions may be available near you?
I find that circular 25mm conduit holds standard pixels pretty well and with a bit of adhesive, liquid nails etc something less flexible, they probably won't peel off. You might have to sand the bottom of them and the surface they are going to be stuck to, so there's something for the adhesive to grip.

The tape around the ends is because Bunnings sold out of 20mm clips and only had 25mm.

It does bend a little in places. I found it needs to be supported every 2m.

Thanks Mark M. I actually saw that photo last night and didn't realise they are the same lights! I should pay more attention.
So no silicone, just zip ties? Might be worth a go. Mine will be vertical though either side of my garage door mounted on a wall.

Love the comment on Bunnings! Typical eh! My pet hate. I made two pipe desks but had to get parts from 3 stores because there was always a hole where the size I wanted was. Staff are clueless because Reps do the ordering!

The Pixatrrim that uncledan posted looks perfect but I don't think anyone sells that in Australia. We always seem to be left out.

I think it's 150mm but that is a little too much for my outline. I have 150 across my 21m roof line.

50 node string is around 7.5m. Should be a bout 22.5m for 150 nodes.

Troy is looking into it for me. I think this is the best option for my senario.
