New elf
finally getting started building a pixel tree this year
wanted to run this by you guys for any tips and suggestions in case I could do things better
not huge (sadly I have limited room). about 10 feet tall pole. 270 degrees with 16 active strings. lights are nodes and I am thinking about 40 nodes per string mounted to black plastic strapping at 2.5" distance. that would be just over 8 feet in lights. with a little room at the top this will leave the tree just slightly over ground.
base would be a slightly modified version of the portable hole (modified to use 2x4 instead of 2x6 so also a little less concrete)
as far as programming I also need to look into that. So far I have been using only LightORama software. Guess I will use xLights/Nutcracker but I will have to learn how to combine the two.
any tips/warnings/advice very welcome
thanks
Mike
