Cable used to connect flex strip to controller

I see in Fasteddy's display pictures the use of pigtails but my question is what type of cable does he use to connect the pigtails to the controller?
I am new to this RGB and want to order the correct items from Ray. Also what is the controller of choose that most use.

I use 4 core 14/020 security cable which has a rating af around 4.5 amps per core
