Can we add extra (shorter) strips in between the existing LONG mega-tree strips?

Hi All,

I'm just looking to make a mega tree appear to be fuller with lights in the lower section where the strips have empty gaps between each other.
e.g.
If i have a (180degree) tree with say 16x 100 pixel strips, is it possible to insert shorter (20 to 50? pixel) strips within the large gaps towards the lower end of the tree?

I imagine the mix of short/long strips won't be done within one model, so i'm guessing i would create a shorter tree assigned to different ports, but how do i link the 2 long/short trees to sequence as one entire tree??

It's probably quite easy for tree gurus, but i'm just starting out with trying different tree settings and ideas.

with thanks.

The native tree model does not support non-equal strands.
You would probably need to model this as two trees (the main one, and the the shorter stubs). You wouldnt be able to (easily) wire them strand by strand, you'd have to do it "big tree" then "little tree" due to the way xLights visualiser works. You could, however, configure it all manually.

You'd then want to set up a group which represents the tree as a whole.

Alternatively, it'd be a custom model which would overcome the wiring limitations.
