TLDR What's a cheap router with Ethernet IP addressing and manual static IP assignment's? less than $50US new.

lI have to admit i'm struggling with something that i used to work with on a daily basis. Networking.

Anyway, what I'm trying to do it this. I have a raspberry PI with FPP installed. The Wi-Fi network is working perfectly. I believe the Ethernet network is also work as expected. I also have an ESP32-eth01 with the latest install ow WLED on it. Again No problem with the Wi-Fi network, and I think I've set the ethernet properly. I followed what I think are the correct steps in Xlights to configure the Wled as a pixel controller, and when its hooked up to my computer I can run a test sequence on it and it looks right.

Where I'm struggling is getting the Pi to talk to the esp32 without a router in between them. I've watched all the videos I can find on the subject and just can't get it to work. I'm pretty sure it's to do with the fact that I can't get the Wled software to set a static IP and that the Pi just isn't finding it. and once I've Isolated everything I can't dig into it via Wi-Fi anymore.

So. I'm looking for an inexpensive router that I can add to this setup to handle all the IP addressing. Adding the router was going to happen anyway eventually so I could expand the show to more than one controller, but I really wanted to get it working without one.

My question is What's a good cheap router <$50US new, that will work? I bought a D-link N-300. It wont let me access the ethernet side of things which is nuts. I can't set static IP addresses or even see devices connected to it via ethernet. This actually boggled my mind. There is literally no menu for it. Now I'm feeling gun shy. I don't want to keep buying routers only to find out that the manufactures have given up on Ethernet and Just don't Have the menus anymore.
