Hi,
Another project up and running is the build of external flood lights, using standard parts in the market.
I got some cheap external waterproof lights using 300 watt flood lamp, basically designed for security purposes ( IR light) for CCTV cams. These units, uses a specific smoked glass, glued with silicon to diffuse 940nm light specific for night view.
So as led goes on, IR illuminators replace now these king of lights, using regular Bulbs 300W (PAR 56).
So my project was very simple : replace the bulb, buy 4 x PAR 56 LED 10mm RGB units ($120), extract the Led PCB with the DMX controller embedded, place all in the old waterproof cabinet, replace the original smoked glass with Plexiglas one, some silicon and that's it...
One original simply idea, who can save you some money for other illumination investment...
OK, this is a PAR 56 and not too luminous as High Power led we can find in the market... But it works...
Check the real price of external PAR 56 waterproof, and you will understand....
Waiting too, RJ Aether, who seems to be someting fantastic and powerfull...
For around $150, i have now 4 external flood RGB connected to my controllers...
Cheers, Henri
