Hi,

I have a Raspberry PI, I want to put a clock or time onto the PI.

What parts do I need to achieve this.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi Len,

If your PI can access the Internet then it can get the time from there - thats what I do with mine.

Just enable NTP from the Time Settings menu.

If you plan to use it with the FPP software to control lights make sure it is One based on the RTC board like RasClock

I use a Rasclock one and it works well. My display wont be connected to the home network.

Hi Damo,

The one I purchased was RasClock-Rasberry Pi Real Time Clock Module V3.0

Cost £7.49
Postage £3.99

Has been shipped, note the cost is in pounds.

When I get my statement I will find the total Aus price.

RasClock is the only one support by FFP. i.e. they include the driver. I assume it will work with other RTC but you would need to muck around. RasClock V4 US$18 total to OZ.

One thing I saw on the Falcon website is that you really only want to use the rasclock if you aren't connected to a network because the FPP only reads from the rasclock at powerup whereas the NTP service will be continually correcting your time. If you use a rasclock but also have it connected to the internet you will want to keep the NTP capability enabled.
