Clone Microship Pickit 3 - Thoughts???

Hi,

Just bought some acl strobes in the group buy. Requiring a programmer to program the strobes and am wondering ppls thoughts of the Clone Pickit 3 found on ebay. Just like this one

These look remarkably like the originals with the exception of the colour. As they look to be a pretty well exact copy then there could be patent issues that can cause them to be grabbed when they hit customs. There's probably little chance of this as the shipper probably won't maek the parcel "fake microchip pickit 3 programmer". Before I bought 1 though I'd do a bit of net trawling and see if these are mentioned on anywhere like microchip programming forums.

They program the strobes perfectly.
I purchased mine direct from Sure electronics with their zif programming board.

Bought mine from Sure last year and have no problems. I didn't get the zif board. Get the board.
