it appears that i need "screw terminals" to attach the wires from the pixel strings to the p12 board? is this correct? if so, any suggestions as to where i should get these or am I completely off track here?

These screw terminals should have come with the board. I do know there was a batch sent out where the plugs were missed and if this is the case you will need to get in contact with Ed from J1sys. Unfortunatly his mother passed away yesterday so you may have to wait a week or so for a response.
If you just have bare pins for where the pixels connect and no plugs that will fit to these that have screw terminals then i would say you were one of the unfortunate ones that got missed. So send Ed an email and im sure he will get to it as soon as he can
