Yes it works, do it via the bulk controller upload under tools. Sometimes it fails but it does work.

You will need to make sure your brightness is set under layout tab for each model.

Do I need my controllers ip set up to be on my inside router like as if would if I were to set it all up manually or can I have it on the same ip that my rpi (with fpp) talks to them on and fpp will take care of it??

if that makes sense

This is what I have.

My router uses ip range of
192.168.1.X

So I put my advatek in the same range.

Advatek controller
192.168.1.50
255.255.255.0

Raspberry pi 3b
192.168.1.115
255.255.255.0

The wiring for this is I run a cable from my

router-> network switch-> advatek controller
-> raspberry pi 3b (fpp)
Because the first 3 numbers are the same and the last .50 or .115 are different it puts them in the same ip range where they can see each other. When you set the ip address it must be a static ip.
