Dave and I run out of time to sequence our shows. We are still working code right up to the final week.
This means we usually use the "Create Random Effects" and tweak to get our shows up.
This yeat Dave and I both had BenQ 770 projectors on our garage doors. Every year, Dave always includes some patriotic music along with his Christmas show. Falcon, Colorado is right next to Colorado Springs , the location of the Air Force Academy.
So, Dave's audience does contain many service men and women.

So Dave sequenced The Madison Rising song "Star Spangled banner" in less than 30 minutes.

Dave just found out yesterday that his neighbor filmed this sequence. Dave's sequence has been viewed 2.2 million times. Dave and I wondered how did that happen? Well, it has been shared almost 100,000 times. Apparently it struck a chord with the military folks and they shared it around the world.

Dave, thanks for remembering our military!

The neighbor posted it on the Madison Rising band facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/search/str/madison%20rising%20-%20the%20star%20spangled%20banner/keywords_top

Here is the video.

So how did Dave discover this? Yesterday he received two band tee-shirts and some cd's. It had a note saying something lile "Thanks for the show". Dave then researched and found the video and the neighbors name. A neighbor who he has not talked to.

Good Karma

Excellent.
I was chatting to Dave a few days ago while he was in chat and asked him if he'd recorded any video of his show and he said he hadn't. It does seem that someone did though :)
He has been popping into chat a bit lately for a bit of socialising while he is working on the code for Xlights 4. I thought it must be late over in Colorado one of the nights there (day here in Aus) so I asked google what time it was over there. Dave was still banging away on xlights code at 3am

Nice work on the sequence Dave and thanks (yet again) for all you do for the Christmas community (Falcon Pi Player and Xlights among other things).

Thats a great outcome for the hard work put in to reach places that were not even thought of. It makes it all so much more rewarding

Great.
Very nice job.
IMO .. if your going to get away from Christmas songs, (with the exception of the nice warm southern party goers down south :D ) national pride is the way to go.
Always great showing national pride, no matter what country you are either from or live in. ;)

FYI - Looks like one was forgot as many of us do, the Coast Guard. ;)

I am the piccolo player for the Colorado VFW (Foreign veterans of War). our band is the oldest in the US being formed in 1888.

People may not know that in WWII and WWI there were 6 branches

United States ArmyUnited States Marine CorpsUnited States NavyUnited States Air ForceUnited States Coast Guard
United States Merchant Marines

Because of this we play "Salute to the armed forces" and play all six. We did have some vets from WWII who were merchant marines, they were touched that we remembered them. They also suffered the highest casualty rate of any branch of service in WWII.
