So who noticed the earthquake near Melbourne last night at about 8:55pm?
Apparently it was a 5.3 magnitude quake which lasted about 20 seconds and was 16km southwest of Moe, at the Latrobe Valley in Victoria’s east.

We felt it at work thats for sure, and that was 1000km away... well the trip of a number of generating units totalling close to 2000MW very close to the location managed to send a frequency disturbance through the 4 eastern states that was one of the largest I have seen in a long time.

Yep we definitely felt it here. We had just put our 2 year old to bed and he didn't stir. We'll never forget his 2nd birthday party in a hurry! I hid in a doorway just to be safe :)

Yes our house shook a fair bit, lasted about 20 secs and the roar/rumble was something to hear!
