Disabling/Removing the Australian Flag icon that's on my Profile Picture

While I was making a post, I noticed an Australian Flag icon placed on top of my profile picture.
I'm all for Australia but this icon overlaps part of my picture and is also rather blurry. It never used to be there and I want to know how I can remove or disable it since it is not part of my picture.
The Online/Offline indicator is not an issue since it's in a different area but this flag icon is driving me bonkers and I'd like to have it removed before I get bothered to the point where I have to leave the forum.

These country flags (automatically set based on your IP) have been a thing for a few years now. On your profile itself the flag instead displays alongside your username. You can hide it from other people in your account privacy settings, by changing "View your country flag" to "Nobody".
