I have been playing with these pixels for around a week now.

Yesterday I decided to drag out an Arduino Mega development board to see if I could nut out the control protocol for the 6803 pixels.

The com protocol was very simple so I came up with a very simple RGBW chase, to prove that it works.

Very basic 6803 control

Very early stages, but there is a definate possibility.

Hopefully to use the entire 512 channels on a universe, so 170 pixels.

we will see.

How about one of these, this will drive the 6803's and a good number of other similar chips.. Proto works nicely, should have some pcbs in the next week.

Oh be still my beating heart!

For cheap sakes like me this is a good think. I'm really impressed with the knowledge you guys have that make all this possible. $.44 cent USD pixels and $20 controllers would be a God send.

Keep up the great work guys!

I just wanted to follow up with you on this board to see if it was going to be produced (for the 6803) chips.

Thanks,
david

board will drive pretty much any of those chipsets. Just change of software

So I'm guessing that what you've developed (some time ago?) is on par with what AP is developing with his protocol gateway?

Can't really comment on what Phil is doing, cause i'm not across it.

Let's all sing kumbaya! :)

If all the really smart people (you and Phil are..) could get together... you guys could put LOR out of business if everyone was one the same page. :)
