Do I add more for 2026? Looking for unbiased opinions of where to go.

When do I have too many pixel lights? I was thinking of adding 3 2x8' matrices with 2" spacing between the porch posts (spaced 8' apart) which are the red rectangles and a 4x4' matrix with 2" spacing on the second level which is the red square. I have 20 pixel stakes in a square grid and a tune to sign off to the far left which aren't in the photo.

Are the new planned matrices too much and do you think that they will drown out the railing, gutters, and snowflakes in the process? I'm debating if I should fill in the gaps to get more pixel density or leave the display more open. The pixel tree is also planned to go from 3" to 2" spacing which should provide a better look at the given distance. I'm also thinking about redoing the pixel tree and going from 6' up to 8' or 10'.

If I went with 4 more matrices and the denser tree or bigger and 4 more window stars (50 nodes each) then I will be adding about 2500 more pixels this year.

Should I add more pixels as described, leave it as is, do something completely different, rearrange and compress some of the display elements, or focus on improving the density of the existing display elements? The gutters, railing, and window frames are spaced at 4" and I could instead attach those lights to pixel mounting strips and make them spaced at 2 or 3".

I am about 20-30' from the road (big matrix and smaller trees are closer, house is farther back) depending on the display element. The big matrix and pixel poles are currently at 2" spacing. I'm running the whole display at about 40-50% brightness. For comparison purposes the big matrix ix 4x8' mounted on a 2x4" frame.

I'd like to get any unbiased opinions of what I should do for 2026.

I would put verticals on the corners before I filled in the red areas. Verticals play well in a lot of sequences.

I'm a big fan of clean lines, so i would be using trim/conduit for gutters, window frames etc.

I would also do as MerryonCherry suggested and get verticals sorted. lots of good places for mounting. Could also investigate icicles on the gutters and getting the roof line in pixels.

I would break down put the pixel poles on all 6 porch posts and make a bigger pixel tree (12') and at 2 inch spacing to take their space and move the snow flakes upstairs on the house given you more verticals and a larger more dense tree that could also act as a matrix

You also have a lot of yard to work with too. Don't focus only on the house. I know snow makes that a little more difficult. I would focus on clean lines on the rooflines and windows first. Verticals are good too. People have different views and opinions on light displays. That's why it is your display. Personally, that one matrix is more than enough. Need to fill out the yard and house a little bit more. You asked the wrong group the question "When do I have too many pixel lights?" There is no such thing. Also, would recommend using null pixels between the window and the rail on the front porch if you don't want to cut strings
