Does anyone play their music without an FM transmitter?

Mate.

I literally just do it for the neighbourhood mostly. Plant my speaker near the front door behind one of our stacker walls. Play it at a decent level, and enjoy drinks with the neighbours. If people want to hear the music. They get out of their cars lol..

..using a 30w soundbar with built in fm receiver... was going to mount it to the megatree pole but it's loud & clear from the garage, and only requires 12V which meant it could be run from one of the light psu's.

Do most people just use the headphone jack form the Rasp.Pi (FPP) or do you use a USB sound card. like this:

I haven't tried it before but did hear the RPi headphone output is not very good. I plan just to run through an set of Powered Computer Speakers I have, not too loud

I believe most people use a Sound Blaster Play! 3 USB out of the Pi, as recommended in this video
