I also entered the 4KQ competition this year too for the first time, so I've been getting a gentle flow of people coming past for the show now. More pictures can be found on my facebook page too!

What lights are you using around the garage door???? Great effect on the door.

I have a dead space with a roller door that does not bide well to lights.

Yup pixels are great for the effects they do and they really do amaze people - but beware they are technically much more complicated than your normal strings! But once the voltage drop/refresh rate issues/programming in hand it's much quicker to wire up than a heap of 1m dumb segments I guess.

As for the garage doors cdjazman; they are WS2811 pixel strip mounted inside tint tubes on either side. All three runs are also mounted inside the clear alsynite roof C channel edging to keep it rigid too.
 
After showing this to my wife I have been given permission to replace all my rope lights with pixels :D
