E1.31 and LOR

nevermind i had the phone app...hope i didnt short my strip cause lights are off now.
 
I have found with the 2811 strip that if you plug these in whilst power is on then it will damage the first pixel and you will get no output
 
great, so i have to cut that one out? I just plugged a different strip in and did not use a pigtail this time. I set davids app to 10.10.10.10 but nothing is happening. I just remembered I have the J jumpers on the P2 set...do i need to remove those?
 
Which jumpers are those?

For operation at 12vdc you should only have the jumpers on K3 for 1-2 and 3-4.

If you have jumpers set on O1 then i would remove these as this will set the P2 into boot mode
 
does he need a straight thru or crossover cable as he is connecting directly to his pc


you should be able to open a cmd window and use ping 10.10.10.10 and get a reply

yes i can ping and even connect to the P2 through browser. I am using Davids app and it doesnt seem to work...i changed the ip settings to 10.10.10.10
 
i know the P2 is getting the signal from davids app cause when i click idl repeat i see the network activity on the P2 increase as the green light flickers on/off. So maybe i need to remove those jumpers on the output end for each universe? I did the scenario with the 12V although it says 12V out to pixels I am not doing that..I supply power seperate.

I think its time to start taking some photos and some screen shots because it looks like either a hardware config issue or a connection issue.

The only bridges you should have in are 1-2 and 3-4 on K3, the rest should be left open
 
great news...i removed the jumpers on J1 and J2 and davids program worked nice. Now I just have to get LOR to work correctly with it.
 
Figured it out...I had to install the driver dll to the usb485 cause I never hooked it up...once i did that then it worked....thanks for helping be get started everyone! I am sure I will have more questions but Im slowly getting there.
