The additions to E1.31 ( sync and universe discovery ) where accepted without any opposition by the CPWG. From here, we have to send it to a formal letter ballot, to send the standard to ANSI.. However this is mostly now formal process's and the Draft Standard as it sits is set to be come the new E1.31 revision.
These standards take forever to get published, but you do get the benefit of wide acceptance and the idea that when you plug X from Y into A from B, X can understand B without issue. Kind of useful. and important.
