I actually this year used the E680 with the CCR strips, so you can use any form of digital strip and any controller that will drive it as all it is is lining up the strips into a matrix

I used 2801 strip for mine (although it didnt make it out this year)

32mm spacing between each LED which looks good from about 4-5m away. 26 pixels wide and 11 pixels high. The idea was for it to be a message board.

How far away from the matrix do you need to be for the image to look decent and noticable?

I reakon from 10 metres or more it looks great, under that it starts to get a bit big to take in well. But generally if its on your house then it will look great from the street
