It could be that your gain is set too high and The amp in the sub is picking up rf.
So first try and turn the gain down.
Otherwise, I had varying issues with my transmitter over the last few years and this year finally got around to making a di-pole ant for it which seems to have solved all my problems. So that may be worth looking into.

Thanks @scamper. I’ll give that a try. I found your instructions on making a di-pole antenna so I might have a go at making one.

The hardest thing was finding a connector to go in the back of the transmitter. Mine was a tnc-r which was almost impossible to find (I did find one but cost more than the transmitter)
So I pulled the thing apart and hardwired a lead to it that goes to a panel mount n type skt on my master controller.
