Ground wire to p2

I just re watched a video and noticed that a ground wire from the power supply went back to the ground of the outputs.

Umm, I realised I haven't done that..

What's the ramifications of not putting a line to the ground output?

I love my p2.

You may experience the lights flickering and not running stable. No harm will come to the P2, but you may see some odd behaviour from your pixels

I'm sure you have already done it, but here is a thread where brought up the same issue..

+12V PS to +12V pixel
clk/dta from P2 to Clk/dta of pixel
gnd from P2 and Gnd from PS to Gnd of Pixel ...

They work like a charm !!! (Note, I am injecting 12V between the P2 and the pixel string... P2 supplies no power in my setup)
