HE123-RX Receiver

Hi all,

I have a question around the compatibility of the Kulp K8-PB and the Hansen HE123-RX differential receiver.

The Kulp boards support both smart and differential receivers.

The Kulp Manual states:

“Each RJ45 port can connect to one Differential Receiver or up to 3 daisy- chained Smart Differential Receivers”

I’d like to try connecting 3 x HE123-RX receivers to the 3 differential ports on the Kulp board but not sure if the communications used is an open standard that I can cross vendors with (Although kulp and falcon seem to support each other)

If anyone has tested this would be great to know.

Thanks

John

My HE123-RX boards work on Falcon F48 so presumably it would also work on a Kulp board. They aren't daisy chainable but each of the 3 outputs on it can receive 1600/800 (at 20fps/40fps) pixels.

Thanks, I’ll order one and test and if all good order a couple more

Just an FYI, I can confirm the HE123-RX receiver works as a standard differential receiver with the Kulp K8-PB boards.

Great option for an inexpensive receiver

@AAH are you able to tell me what the R10 vs LD1 indicator lights mean?

I had a look through the HE123 manual on the website but it just says “power led” (or maybe I missed it)

It just a power led to indicate that there is 5V coming from the regulator.

Thanks, I’m still. A little confused
I have three of these boards connected to different 12v power supply’s, two of them show green LED indicator on LD1 and one of them shows a Orange LED on R10?

I haven’t connected any lights to the one that shows R10, is this something I need to worry about ?

I use whatever led I happen to have handy at the time. I would generally use red or green ones but I do know I have used both white and blue when I run out. If there is a led loaded in R10 I have had an eyesight fail and have swapped the resistor and led. They can go in either spot.

Awesome, thank you!

Just wanted to check if it was anything to worry about
