HE123Mk2 Issue

Hi Brain trust,
I hope somebody could shed some light on this situation.
I have a Kulp32A-B, which unfortunately two of the power connectors broke. Pretty poor build quality IMO, but a conversation for another day.
As a backup I purchased the HE123Mk2 with expansion board.

My understanding is that when you do your FPP initial install, you can select the Cape/Hat that is installed on the BBB.

I only get these options:


From the limited research I've done, shouldn't there be an option for HE123?

I've tried multiple different installations of FPP (7.5, 8.5.1 and 9.3.3) None of them shows any other Cape/Hats.

This is what my current setup looks like.


Anybody have any thoughts / ideas as to why the BBB and FPP is not picking up the HE123 as a Cape?

Initially it showed noting. No Cape no info. I left it running for the last hour or so, and when rechecking with the latest version of FPP 9.3.3, after selecting the RGB-123 just for giggles, it showed the eeprom was not programmed. Managed to program the eeprom, via FPP, so looks promising.

You can generate an eeprom here https://apps.mortonlights.com/eeprom/he123-unsigned
This will give you all the features of the board which the rgb123 won't do.
Don't use this if you've already licensed the board though.

Thanks @Skymaster by hook or by crook, I've managed to install the eeprom, and load the licence. What a journey.
