So anyways myself and my crazy light lady have been in the dark for a few years now! But plans have changed an now looking to get the show up an running again! An yes thanks A LOT ! Karob an big Xmas tree in Adelaide centre! Last Friday night then turned corner to go into my street an total darkness? I think that was the final point we’ve realised? So heck I’ve had a few sleepless nights trying to work out how I can do again etc etc, what went where, an also thinking how did I do this in first place 😧
Amazingly The Ryan an yes thanks heaps, has kept this site up an running! I checked my profile found lots of my posts etc etc an hey I actually knew some things! Someone posted a thread why do you do Xmas lights! My comment was I married the crazy light lady! That was funny 😄
So too the subject at hand! I’m a 12v 2811 pixel strip person with falcon fv16 controllers and needs to replace many strips!
Have been told about seeds? Will they run on early fv16 falcons ? power injection ? Most importantly don’t want to change my channels etc everything still set . Yes I think needs to start working now replacing and repairing to be ready for 2025
Any help is very appreciated thank you

Not much help I can offer. I too am looking at restarting and using seed pixels. My issue before was the bulk of bullet pixels, storing, the pain of pushing them into coro strips only to have them break or pop out. Seed pixels are lighter, cheaper, and easier to store. I have been researching coro props and none really take seed pixels without a pixel popper. I need to see how much weight and price that would add. I have seen videos of seed pixel megatrees which are significantly less expensive. So, lots of research going on to see what I want to do. I have a Falcon F16v3, so hoping it can manage.

There are a dizzying number of seed pixel types available now, and various successful (and failed) projects.
Seed pixels are quite easy to work with, controller-wise, same as bullet or strip or anything else.
The power story varies wildly depending on the wire, spacing, voltage, brightness, etc., from PI every 50 to every few hundred.
I am not sure you'd want to combine seed pixels with coro props. They offer the same chips as seed pixels with plastic already on the "seed", a good bit lighter than a bullet, that fits in the coro hole, and getting them made this way is cheaper and easier than doing it yourself. Be aware that with white coro, the light will bleed into it quite a bit.
You can also use a different material than coro (HDPE sheet, for example) to hold the seeds in place... I did that for cone mini trees this year... you can also easily do it for matrix and strips, and there's a spinner design out there.
People have some neat 3D print designs for seeds, also. Clear or opaque tubing. In the flutes of clear polycarbonate twin wall, etc.

So short story, for new seed projects, consider not using traditional coro with 12mm holes.
For existing coros, if you don't want bullets, then look at evos or gumdrops.
