Hi all


Thought I had better post a hello thread before delving into the rest of the forum.


I am 31, live in Rockhampton, QLD. I am a qualified electrician and own and operate an electrical contracting business. I also have another trade in instrumentation (specialising in microcontroller based electronic designs).


I have experience using Altium Designer to design circuit boards and schematics.


I have been playing with christmas light shows for a while now, but mainly only using lightshowpi on a raspberry pi.


Next year I am planning on using Falcon Pi Player and doing my own sequencing, adding RGB pixels, etc. I am fairly new to this, so it will be a bit of a learning curve for me. I have played a bit with DMX before for stage lighting and fixture controls, so hopefully it won't be that "alien" to me.


The forum looks like it is a wealth of information, I appreciate being able to be a part of online forums such as these.


I look forward to having some discussions with you all.

Welcome to the mad house ::)
You will find this your second home over the next year or so, so brew up a pot of coffee, or crack open a tinnie, whatever you fancy and enjoy the ride.

Danv, often the best place to hang out is chat , but understand that this time of year is usually our "Stressful" time, and in january it's our "Oh thank goodness thats over" time. The regulars are there all year round, and often have heaps of time through the year to help you get things going OK

Welcome to ACL, you have already some of the skills needed for this hobby so I doubt you will find it too difficult. you will find that there is plenty of help and advice here from some great members, so what your not sure about then just ask
