Welcome @Michael_Mahaffey ,
Have a read of the 101 manual on here.
There's also great videos by CanispaterChristmas on YouTube.

Most of us use Falcon Controllers but others work.

There are also heaps of videos in the media section here that will guide you through anything you want to know.
But as said before, the 101 manual is your friend when you first start.
